Cameron Park and Shingle Springs represent some of the most interesting terrain in our service area. Foothill properties, larger lots, significant elevation change in many yards, and El Dorado County’s unique combination of clay soil and rocky subsurface. Installations here require more engineering than flat-valley Sacramento jobs — but the results are also some of the most dramatic transformations we do.
Most Cameron Park and Shingle Springs properties have at least some slope to manage. This affects everything: drainage engineering (water needs to move away from structures on sloped terrain), base preparation (compaction on slopes requires different technique), and edge anchoring (sloped perimeters need deeper anchoring to resist gravity over time).
We’ve completed installations in Shingle Springs and Cameron Park ranging from relatively flat backyard conversions to aggressively sloped front yards that required terracing and retaining integration. The key is accurate site assessment — you can’t engineer drainage for a sloped property without actually walking the grade.
Unlike flat Sacramento Valley clay, foothills soil in Cameron Park and Shingle Springs is often a mix of clay, decomposed granite, and rocky material. This changes base preparation: we typically need to excavate more carefully to avoid hitting rock, and we adjust base material composition based on what’s underneath. A soil type we haven’t seen before gets assessed before we quote — no surprises mid-installation.
El Dorado County properties are in higher fire risk zones. Artificial turf is non-combustible and meets California fire safety standards — an advantage over natural grass that dries to tinder by August. Several Cameron Park and Shingle Springs homeowners have specifically mentioned fire defensibility as a reason for switching. Our USA-made products meet all relevant California fire codes.
Cameron Park and Shingle Springs lots are generally larger than Sacramento Valley suburban lots. Half-acre to full-acre properties are common. Most of our foothills projects run 1,000-3,000 sq ft and take 3-7 days depending on terrain complexity.
See current rates on our pricing page. Foothills installations typically run at Elite tier given terrain complexity and engineering requirements. We provide free on-site estimates — we won’t quote a sloped foothill property without walking it in person.
